ABOUT

Brett’s paintings are created using bold, colorful strokes.  He translates his subjects into disparate shapes of color and value that work together to create a unique representation of the subject. In Brett’s word, “Each shape does not apologize for what it is – allowing the human eye to piece together the subject, much like the early impressionists.”

Brett’s work is appealing to both seasoned and beginning collectors. His pieces are well suited for collectors looking for investment pieces or building private collections.  Each piece expresses deep emotions.  At first glance his work captures the viewers’ attention through a clear composition. Vibrant detail then invites the viewer to spend time being delighted by the play of color and value.

BIO

Raised by artists, Brett’s training began very early.  He recalls very vividly the sense of wonder “at how a few simple strokes could create such a beautiful representation of a subject.” In his current work he enjoys searching for the line between abstract and realism.

Brett studied art at Utah Tech University, California State University, San Bernardino, and the University of Utah. Early training by Harrison T. Groutage influenced Brett’s process. He has patrons in the Middle East and across the U.S.
